All Californians expect to be treated fairly by their government. As an elected official, Betty understands she serves and works for the public. She upholds openness and transparency in government, welcoming and valuing all perspectives to guide and inform her work. Betty believes fairness means equal access to opportunities by all.
Respect
With our State’s vast diversity, the rights of all Californians must be respected, most fundamentally, the right to be treated with dignity. Betty believes a strong democracy is founded on the right of each of us to fully participate in it, contributing our abilities, qualities, histories, and achievements.
Integrity
To elevate and maintain the public’s trust and confidence in their government, Betty believes in good governance, accountability of our tax dollars, and avoidance of conflicts of interest. Her work serving the public interest are of the highest professional and ethical standards of conduct. Betty believes core to integrity in public service is treating everyone fairly and respectfully.
